He warns her that she will be starting a war with Mufasa should she harm Simba, but Shenzi orders the attack anyway. ![]() The cubs race away and get lost in the water hole, with Zazu frantically pursuing them.Įventually, Zazu finds them at the Elephant Graveyard and defends them from Shenzi and her hyena clan. Simba declares that he does not have to marry anyone, as he will be the king, but Zazu insists that it is tradition. He informs them that they will one day be married, to which both react with disgust. Not long after, Zazu escorts Simba and Nala to the water hole. Mufasa leaves to deal with the invasion, while Zazu guides Simba home. The hornbill soon returns with news that hyenas are invading the Pride Lands. Simba pounces on Zazu, who flutters off in a huff. As he drones on, Mufasa instructs Simba in a pouncing lesson. Months later, Zazu delivers a morning report to Mufasa. He then tells a story about his cousin who’d thought he was a woodpecker. Eventually, Scar wanders off, and Zazu wonders why Mufasa refuses to run him off. The brothers argue over Scar’s right to the throne, with Zazu supporting Mufasa’s claims. Scar attempts to eat Zazu, but Mufasa stops him. In 2011 Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys covered the song for his album In the Key of Disney.After the ceremony, he warns Scar that Mufasa is coming, as he is displeased with Scar for missing Simba’s presentation.The Brazilian musical group "Exaltasamba" recorded a Portuguese version of "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" ( O que eu quero mais é ser rei, roughly translated as "What I want most is to be king") in a samba style to the CD Disney Adventures in Samba.Allstar Weekend remade the song for Disneymania 7.Pop star Aaron Carter remixed the song on Disneymania.The song appears on their 2012 album, Day Job. At one point near the end of the song, there are giant anteaters participating in the musical number flicking their tongues out.Other birds in the same scene resemble a turaco (upper left), a giant kingfisher (back center), and a pair of wood hoopoes (right).In real life, laughing kookaburras live in Australia while greater green leafbirds live in some parts of Asia thus, those birds are not native to Africa in real life. Though the film is set in Africa, some of the birds in the bushes that Simba used for his mane resemble a laughing kookaburra (front center) and a greater green leafbird (lower left).Zazu's spoken line "Well, I've never seen a king of beasts with quite so little hair" is a possible allusion to the working title of The Lion King, which was King of the Beasts.As of the IMAX re-issue, different crocodile animation is used, though the original crocodile animation is still featured in the Disney Sing Along Songs version of the song and in Disney Parks shows like Disney Dreams!.Also, the animals and backgrounds are notably more surreal as opposed to how they looked during " Circle of Life".
